What is BFR?
Blood flow restriction (BFR) training is the use of pneumatic bands to allow arterial blood flow to a region while restricting venous return during low-load exercise.
Using BFR is a safe and effective way to create an optimal building environment for muscle and tissue without stress to the joint, ligaments, or tendons.
Clinicians using a Doppler Ultrasound (DUS) can individualize the treatment to the patient or client, leading to optimal results in a short amount of time! Learn more here.
What are the benefits?
- Increase muscle hypertrophy
- Improve strength
- Increase repair and regrowth
- Increased aerobic capacity
- Great for deload weeks in athletes
- Better rehab outcomes
Who is BFR FOR?
If you have a patient with muscles, blood flow restriction therapy/training could benefit them!
Elderly, post-op, prehab, athlete, weekend warrior, following an injury...use it for a variety of reasons!
